MyProSurfer.co.uk In Preparation For Big Launch

1st January 2009 The UK’s newest surfing website, MyProSurfer.co.uk, is preparing a launch for the new year. The website provides an on-going rankings table for UK professional surfers based on their exposure in three of the top UK surf magazines.

The “Exposure-meter” will score surfers on a monthly basis depending on how much coverage they receive in top UK surf mags: Carve, Pitpilot and Wavelength. The holy grail will be a cover shot buying surfers the maximum number of points. Points will also be scored for pull-out posters, featured articles, and adverts. Those pieces with greatest print space will receive the most points.

At the end of the year the surfer with the most “exposure points” will be crowned MyProSurfer.co.uk champion and will be awarded an undisclosed cash prize.

MyProSurfer.co.uk founder, Oli Salisbury, said “it’s all about raising the profile of the UK surf scene.

“We want to reward surfers who are pushing the boundaries of surfing and representing the country on surf trips both local and overseas.

“At the same time we are publicising the UK surf mags and photographers that give these surfers coverage.”

The website will also offer general surfing information such as breaking news, “how to” surf tutorials, pro surfer and photographer profiles, contest coverage, and much more.

The scoring will commence with the January issue of each surf mag. If you have a UK surf related press-release, or would like to support this initiative, please email us on press@myprosurfer.co.uk.
